Angie & Jeff live in Chicago but both are originally from Iowa. Unfortunately we weren't able to meet until the week of their wedding. To my surprise when I meet Angie at her mothers house my 5th grade English teacher answered the door!! It was so fun to see her again and it made me even more excited for Angie and Jeff's big day!! They were such a fun bunch and we were able to go to a bar and the capitol before heading to the reception. The Scottish Rite building is one of the most beautiful places for a reception, in my opinion. The architecture, size, and furniture are just breath taking.

Reception: Foxboro Conference Center

Erin & Stewart are two of the sweetest people. They both have amazingly big heart, faith and sense of humor with that said I had a blast being a part of their day! We stopped at a park in between the ceremony and reception and the boys had a little surprise up their sleeves, so to speak. It was hilarious and honestly the picture tells it better than I can. Ceremony & Reception: Prairie Moon Winery

Chris and Jessica's Wedding was so much fun for me to shoot. The beginning of the day I was a little nervous since it was rainy. One of the first things Jessica told me was how she and all of her bridesmaids went to the store and bought rain boots!! I was so excited. Even though it did rain on and off threw out the day it only sprinkled during the ceremony and it was the best case scenario as far as rain goes. Jessica and Chris' theme was bicycle built for two and they even took a ride on a tandem bike towards the end of the night. They both have great spirits and I can only imagine the fun they will have sharing their lives together!!

Ceremony: St Theresa's Catholic Church Des Moines, IA
Reception: Iowa Historical Building Des Moines, IA

Emily and Jason are such a great couple. At the rehearsal they were forced to make the last minute decision to move their reception inside instead on the historical building patio like they had originaly planned. Despite the threat of thunderstorms and change of plans they were in high spirits! There were so many adorable kids not only in the wedding but at the reception as well. Emily read to a couple of the girls before getting into her dress and I was lucky enough to be there to get a few photos of it! As we finished photos at the Capitol it started to sprinkle!! Even though most people don't want rain on their wedding day I was happy for Emily that at least she made the right decision, earlier in the day we talked about how disappointing it would be if she moved it indoors for nothing. I think that we were all happy that they had made the decision to have the reception indoors and it was a unique experience Not only was I able to witness a couple start their lives together I was able to do it surrounded by reminders of the past.

Jill and Wayne were such a fabulous couple. It's funny to see trates of you and your hubby in an other couple and I defiantly did with Jill and Wayne! Jill and her family are so close and I felt privileged to be able to even witness it!! Jill was absoluetly break taking and I loved her dress it reminded me of Marilyn Monroe! I wish nothing but the best for the both of you! Here are just a few of my favorites!!

So I realize I need to start playing catch BIG TIME!! It's amazing how having a child changes not only your concept of time but completely reschedules your life!! So here I am playing catch up hoping I can get most of the way caught up!!

Reception: Marriott, West Des Moines, IA

I had the privilege of meeting Wendi and Adam last Nov. for a portrait session. Since then they have moved out of Iowa. It's sad when the state losing such great people. They are truly one of the most caring people I've had the opportunity to meet and capture!! The sun was shining and it was an fabulous day to get married!! One of the little boys (Eric) had some rocking Rainbow socks on. He insisted I take a picture of them and I was more than happy to oblige!!
